“This inn was so convenient while hiking Hadrian's Wall. Breakfast and dinner were very good. Slept very well as the rooms were very quiet. Owner Elaine went above and beyond the call in getting a lost item back to us while were continuing traveling in England. Would definitely stay there again.”

“My husband, granddaughter and myself had a lovely meal at Vallum house hotel today. We haven't been for years, ever since the last owners had bluebottles inside and on the food. It has changed hands and the owner is a very nice man. I love the change in decor and the roman pictures and helmets on the walls are brilliant. The food was excellent and would recommend going there. We will definitely be going back!!”
“Definitely a hidden gem, the hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean, and the staff are extremely helpful. the food is absolutely delicious and has a big bar area with lots of choices of beverages. Vallum House Hotel has a beautiful big garden to the rear of the hotel with plenty of parking spaces, a great venue for small weddings and other functions! It's definitely a must visit place.”
“Staff were very nice and polite. Parking was easy as was getting here. Only a short drive into central Carlisle. The rooms were as advertised and clean. The only downside was I had to go to the shared toilet and shower but that was also no problem and very clean. I would definitely stay again”
